Collimating Lens Solutions for Laser

Precision Collimating Lens and Collimator Lens Designs for Laser Collimation

IADIY offers precision collimating lenses designed for laser diode collimation, beam shaping, and optical focus control. With extensive experience in laser optics manufacturing, we provide both custom-made collimator lenses and a wide selection of standard laser collimating lens types.

Our laser collimator solutions support applications requiring various diameters, focal lengths, and numerical apertures (NA). Whether for R&D or product integration, IADIY delivers fast turnaround on pre-engineered and laser diode collimating lens solutions tailored to your specifications.

Why Use a Collimating Lens for Laser Applications?

A collimating laser lens is essential for controlling beam divergence from laser diodes. As the emitted light is highly divergent—typically 10° horizontally and 30° vertically—an elliptical beam is formed. Using a well-matched collimator lens improves optical efficiency and beam directionality.

The collimating lens NA (numerical aperture) must exceed the NA of the laser source. For example, a 0.30 NA lens outperforms a laser diode NA of ≈0.26 (sin 15°), ensuring optimal light collection and beam collimation.

Selecting the Right Collimator Lens for Your Laser Diode

When choosing a collimating lens for laser diodes, consider factors like wavelength, focal length, and mounting diameter. Aspheric lenses are often preferred for minimizing spherical aberrations and achieving tight collimation.

For systems needing high precision and low distortion, IADIY also offers laser collimating focus lenses for enhanced beam control, making them ideal for industrial, medical, and optical sensing applications.
